As one of the more rapidly expanding game modes, the Ultimate Team has seen success on FIFA and Madden. The continuation of that in the NHL series, has been nothing but a hit. Below are some of the updates from this year's HUT, as well as a few bugs along the way.
The introduction of Legends into HUT has gotten somewhat of mixed reaction. Last year, it was all about snagging the Ovie's and Crosby's and now it's all about landing one of those 9 legends. You can find all 9 of them here. It is a nice addition. However, say you have a Gretzky card when he is on Edmonton. Well, since he played for both the LA Kings and NY Rangers, there are those versions of him floating around too. This takes away from the rare aspect of the Legends and doesn't make them as exciting to get, knowing that there are plenty of other kinds out there.
After submitting my video to the EA Sports Forums, I recieved a message from a developer saying the problem is known and a patch for NHL 12 is being worked on and should be released soon. That is great news for NHL 12 EASHL Club players as this glitch is ruining the leaderboards as certain teams like DCS Warriors are pretty much able to back out of any game they are losing, maintaining a crazy win-loss record in club.
If you wish to see some of the DCS Warriors and their friends with no life, I recommend watching the video below and then going to youtube to see them trying to get a rise out of me by insulting me. Fun times for me as it makes them look more pitiful then ever. Even after this problem is fixed, I recommend to all players of NHL 12 to not play DCS Warriors as they should not be even allowed to play the game online in my opinion, but having no opponents would pretty much stop that as well.
Wall of Shame
Many gamers are complaining that the field of view (FOV) in Dead Island is not to their preference. Being at 62 degrees, I agree with them. Most of the recent first-person viewpoint games come with a way to alter the FOV value without too much trouble or headaches, but unfortunately Dead Island is not one of them. Games like Fallout use console commands to easily allow a user to change the default FOV, in Fallout's case 75 degrees, to another setting like 90 (which I like). But in Dead Island, the only way so far is a little tough for the average consumer, but still not too hard.
The real problem lies with the majority distributer of the game, Steam, might not look kindly on their users hex editing the dll files needed to change the field of view. Luckily though, it appears a new way has been found to change the FOV without risk of getting VAC banned. Here are the directions:
