Fallout: New Vegas as a whole is a great game. Even though it is buggy as hell, the storyline and game-play really push the game to a high level, adding of course that you save every couple of minutes. Best way I can think to put it is that Fallout: New Vegas is like Windows ME but its fun to play. Just save your essay your writing for class every 2 seconds and you should be good. But now this little intro leads me to speak of the DLC for Fallout: New Vegas named Dead Money. Even though I enjoyed the main game immensely, Dead Money to me was a horrible addition that was a huge trial of patience.

The shovel in Fallout: New Vegas can actually be found early on in the game near the town of Goodsprings. So fast travel to the town and proceed south towards the water pumps down the road. At the second one, you should be able to find a free, new shovel for use in the game for digging up graves and for melee.
